Principal's Message

Greetings, Jefferson Families!

 

My name is Chelsea Drey and I have the pleasure of joining the Jefferson Elementary School family this year to serve as the Principal! I am originally from Minnesota and currently live in Flagstaff. I am the mom to my almost 12-year-old daughter, Melanie, who loves soccer, and I am an avid hiker and martial artist. Melanie and I love to go explore, ride roller coasters, and watch musicals!

 

I have worked in education for 13 years in Flagstaff, AZ. In that time, I taught high school social studies, coordinated advanced and honors programs at the middle and high school levels, the 21st Century after school program at the elementary level, and a school improvement program at the district level. Supporting students to achieve their fullest potential is what drives me. I love working with kids and helping them grow throughout their elementary years and preparing them for bright futures. 

 

I am excited to join Jefferson this school year and learn more about what makes the Jefferson and Winslow community so great! I invite you to come say hi during the Jefferson Meet the Teacher/Principal open house on August 1st from 2:00 - 4:00 to welcome families for the new year.
